The scale is a liar and sometimes a jerk.
And not a little liar… it’s a professional, straight-faced, no-remorse kind of liar. And that makes it a jerk!

Because at the end of the day, it never likes to tell you:

  • How your clothes fit

  • How your confidence just walked back into the room

It can be the worst kind of addiction for your mental health. For example, say you get up in the morning and step right on it. Then say that it’s up a pound. JUST ONE FREAKING POUND!

But suddenly our mindset immediately goes to:
“UH OH I’m failing.”
“UH OH I need to eat less.”
“UH OH I need to do more cardio.”

OR WORSE… “UH OH I might as well quit because obviously I suck and this isn’t working.”

Well my friend (s)…. Relax. BREATHE!

Your body isn’t a math equation, it’s a biological system.

That stupid number we see on the scale can change multiple times throughout the day because of:

  • Water retention

  • Sodium

  • Hormones

  • Stress

  • What you ate yesterday

  • Whether Mercury is in retrograde (kidding… kinda 😏)

AND NONE of that reflects actual progress. It just states a point in time.

‍ ‍WHAT ACTUALLY MATTERS (SCIENCE TIME)

Muscle is metabolically active tissue. DON’T FORGET THAT!

That means:
👉 The more muscle you have, the more calories your body burns just existing, or even texting!
👉 It improves insulin sensitivity (hello better blood sugar control and less fat storage)
👉 It protects your joints (motion is lotion)
👉 It improves balance, coordination, and longevity

Translation?

Muscle is your anti-aging, fat-burning, life-enhancing superpower.

SO THE REAL FLEX ISN’T SKINNY… IT’S STRONG

You know what actually matters in the grand scheme of things?

  • Getting up off the floor without thinking about it

  • Carrying groceries like a boss

  • Walking into a room and feeling capable

  • Having energy at the end of the day

That’s not “weight loss.” That’s winning at life. That’s EPIC living.

WHY THE SCALE CAN ACTUALLY HOLD YOU BACK
